What you’ll learn to do

  • Be less in your head and more attuned to the verbal, visual, and intuitive information you receive from others.

  • Strengthen your active listening skills.

  • Develop more effective body language through greater body awareness.

  • Stay present in your body when dialogue becomes intense or stressful.

  • Quickly identify patterns and blocks—both your own and those of your clients or students.

  • Become an expert at thinking on your feet.

  • Become more empathetic and flexible in your expectations.

  • Use breath, voice, and presence to create a sense of safety for others.

  • Cultivate confidence and refine your skills as a speaker.

  • Learn a simple routine to use before a session or stepping in front of a group.

You’ll learn these skills through

  • Improv exercises, theatre games, and role plays

  • The fundamentals of the Alexander Technique, a proven method to develop in-the-moment body awareness - includes both verbal and light touch

  • Embodied Seeing Exercises - a strategy for staying fully present and not simply reacting to who and what you see.

No cancellations after October 9. If you need to cancel, you will receive a credit that can be applied to any class or individual session.

Insurance Coverage:  As a member of L’Académie des Naturopathes et Naturothéapeutes du Canada, I can provide insurance receipts.  Inquire with your provider for details on coverage for “naturopathy” or “naturotheraphy”.

Lindsay Newitter is a certified Alexander Technique teacher who specializes in helping people communicate authentically, manage stress, and avoid pain and strain in daily life.  She has been teaching the technique for 19 years, first in New York City and now in Montréal, where she has lived since 2021.  Additionally she has taught workshops, courses, and retreats in Europe, Asia, and South America and her tips have been featured on Good Morning America, CBS Radio, and in The New York Times, and Vogue.  Lindsay’s approach is enriched by her skills as a theatre and visual artist.  Lindsay earned her BFA in drama from New York University in 2001 and her Alexander Technique certification in 2007 after completing 1,600 hours of training.  She works with individuals, groups, and companies.
